Sea of Thieves was released for the PlayStation 5 on April 30, 2024[1][2][4][5][6][7][8]. Players who purchased the Premium Edition gained early access starting April 25, 2024[1].
There were three digital editions available for PS5:
- Standard Edition ($39.99): Base game, closed beta access, exclusive pre-order weapons and pet.
- Deluxe Edition ($49.99): Includes everything in the Standard Edition, plus ocean crawler cosmetics, Collector’s Thunderous Fury ship items, Shrouded Ghost Hunter Blunderbuss, and 10,000 gold.
- Premium Edition ($59.99): Includes all Deluxe content plus Dark Warsmith Ship Set and Costume, Season 12 Plunder Pass, five-day early access, and the Diabolical Dog Pet.
The closed beta for PS5 ran from April 12 to April 15, 2024, and was accessible to anyone who pre-ordered the game[1][3][4].
As of launch, the PS5 version of Sea of Thieves supported crossplay with other platforms, but there was no announced physical release; only digital editions were available through the PlayStation Store[4].
